Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Clara, a workplace English assistant provided by Workplace English Lab (“Clara,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Clara, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Clara.

2. Clara service

Clara helps you write clear, professional English for workplace situations. You describe a situation or paste a draft, and Clara generates suggested responses, including softer and more direct versions. Clara provides language assistance only. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, HR, or other professional advice.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use Clara beyond the anonymous demo. Sign-in is passwordless, using Google or an email magic link. You are responsible for the security of your email account and for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal capacity in your country, and able to enter into a binding agreement.

4. Free and paid plans

The free plan includes 3 responses per month. Clara Pro includes 150 responses per month. Usage limits reset at the start of each monthly billing period. We do not offer “unlimited” usage. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and may change; a price change does not affect a billing period you have already paid for.

5. Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record, on a recurring basis — monthly or annual, depending on the plan you choose. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account. When you cancel, you keep Clara Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that. If a payment fails, your paid access may end.

6. Refunds

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy and are subject to the terms presented at checkout. Except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout, payments are non-refundable. We do not offer a separate money-back guarantee. Refund requests are handled through Lemon Squeezy; contact us at contact@workplaceenglishlab.com if you need help.

7. Acceptable use

Use Clara lawfully and in good faith. Do not use Clara to deceive, harass, defraud, impersonate, or harm others, to generate unlawful content, or to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. Clara may refuse or filter requests that appear deceptive, harassing, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful. Do not submit confidential employer or client information, trade secrets, passwords, or other highly sensitive data.

8. AI-generated responses

Clara's responses are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any response before you say or send it. You decide what to communicate, and you are responsible for your communications.

9. User content

You keep ownership of the text you submit. You grant us the permission needed to process your input and to generate, store, and display your responses so we can provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit the content you provide.

10. Intellectual property

Clara — including its name, design, prompts, and software — belongs to Workplace English Lab. These Terms do not grant you any right to our branding or software beyond using the service as intended.

11. Service availability

We aim to keep Clara available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uptime, and features may change, be limited, or be discontinued.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk or legal exposure. You may stop using Clara at any time, and you may request account deletion by contacting us.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clara is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that responses will be accurate, appropriate, or fit for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Workplace English Lab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Clara. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

15. Changes

We may update the service and these Terms. When we change these Terms, we will update the effective date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
